Is it okay to drive trailblazer 2002 2wd with gears?

i have a trailblazer 2002 ls 2wd, im wondering will the car be faster and okay to do this.. drive it like a manual, 1st gear then 2nd then 3rd and when rpms get high i put into regular drive
